Health, wellbeing and arthrose

Over the last 20 years in the United Kingdom people have put aside traditional living for a life which is full of convenience. This convenience has affected not only lifestyle but has had an enormous effect on health.

Convenience food, such as take away meals, fast food and frozen meals has become a lifestyle, gone are the days when people used to walk to the local shops to buy meat and two vegetables and cook for the whole family at tea time. This has been replaced by people taking the car to the local take out to feed the family in front of the television.

Although this was seen as a great way of living at the latter end of the 1980’s it has now had a detrimental effect on health, and unless something is done to change this then around 9 out of 10 children will end up as adults with dangerous fatty deposits lurking inside them.

Exercise and healthy eating is paramount to the body thriving. If people gorge on take aways with little in the way of exercise then eventually the body will begin to shut down. A bad diet and lack of exercise can lead to heart disease and type 2 diabetes, not to mention what the extra weight is doing to our knee and hip joints.

There are many people who suffer from (arthrosis) Arthrose, arthrosis is when the joint surface wears, wearing of this kind is usually associated with overgrowth of bone – also known as osteophytes, joint deformity, joint narrowing and bone hardening (sclerosis). Joint disease can be very painful and very hard to deal with at times for those who live with it.

People with joint disease are advised where possible to try to lead a healthy and active lifestyle, and there are supervised programmes which are recommended by doctors to aid the patient. Walking, cycling and swimming are often advised as these are not weight bearing activities and don’t tend to put strain on a joint.

Osteoarthritis and arthrosis tend to occur in a patient after many years of wearing to a joint, sometimes the joint can wear away entirely. .

From a patients point of view it is always advisable to lead a healthy lifestyle whatever your circumstance. For more information on arthrosis visit gelenk-klinik.de.
